Chocolate Sauce

Try this #delightfullyMzansi Easter treat, courtesy of NESTLÉ RECIPES WITH LOVE.

Makes 2 cups. Requires 5 minutes of your time – 3 minutes for the prep & 2 minutes for the actual cooking.

INGREDIENTS

  • 60ml NESTLÉ COCOA POWDER
  • 30ml NESTLÉ KLIM MILK
  • 125ml Castor Sugar
  • 5ml Fine Salt
  • 250ml Warm Water
  • 15ml Vanilla Essence

Method

In a cold saucepan, sift together the NESTLÉ COCOA POWDER, NESTLÉ KLIM MILK, salt and sugar until all lumps are removed. Gradually whisk in warm water and bring to a boil on a stove top, over medium heat.

Reduce to simmer, stirring constantly to avoid burning at the bottom. Let it simmer for about 1 – 2 minutes and then remove from heat. Let it cool and then add Vanilla Essence.

To completely cool down, pour into a glass jar and refrigerate until needed.

Cooking tip: The chocolate sauce will be very thin when it finishes reducing, but it will thicken a bit as it cools.

Sipping note: If you dare, you can replace the water with a shot of your favourite liqueur for a boozy chocolate sauce treat…
